Water Bouncing

We recently bought a trampoline for the boys to have fun on this summer. They LOVE it. It's mid-June and we are hot! My mom's swimming pool wasn't quite ready and the boys are already bored with the sprinklers. So our solution...combine the trampoline and the sprinkler! They loved it! We just placed our old garden sprinkler under the trampoline and let them have at it! Check it out. (talk about being frugal, I love this! FREE)

Cohen's 1st Official Haircut!

So Cohen's curls are really starting to bother him and Lou thought it was time to take him in for a haircut. I've cut his hair before with the clippers but I didn't want to do that again because I hoped we could shorten his hair without losing all of his curls. So I took him to Jennifer at Hairbenders. He was really excited about getting his hair cut. He talked about it on and off for about an hour before our appointment. He loves getting his hair sprayed with a water bottle. He was more than cooperative and smiled the whole time! You can see in the pictures that his hair was actually getting so long that he was losing curl.

here we go!

Go Diego Go Live!

On Saturday May 30th we went to see Go Diego Go Live at the Fox Theater in St. Louis! It was amazing! We checked in at the Hampton Inn early on Friday so we could all swim. Here are some pictures of the boys upon checking into the hotel. They really enjoyed riding up in the elevator on the luggage cart.

Lou and I took the boys swimming early in the afternoon, then we went back to our room and watched cartoons for a while. We went out for dinner in the restaurant in the hotel called Syberg's. It was a sports bar & grill that specialized in seafood. Lou was less than thrilled because "the Beckleys are Cubs fans" and we were in Cardinal Country! Camden is all about trying new things and he ordered Shark Bites and ate every last one. Later my friend Jaime came for a visit to see the boys and to go swimming with us. She's 8 months pregnant and adorable! (she'll probably kill me for showing off her belly in this picture!)
Our Hotel room was VERY nice. Cohen and Camden love staying in hotels. We spend most of our time riding the elevators and exploring. The Hampton Inn has a very nice fitness center that we hung out in for a while. Camden liked the treadmill and Cohen liked riding the bikes. While I was looking after them Jaime was able to get in a 20 min walk! You go girl!!!
Sorry I don't have any pictures of the Diego Show but the Fox Theater doesn't allow cameras during the show. The show was amazing! I had packed all the necessities for the boys: Diego costumes that had vests, shorts, backpacks, video watches and spotting scopes. They have it all! We were prepared. I'm glad we took all that with us because a vest or backpack or toy were all $15.00 each!!! Ouch! We had a great mini vacation in St. Louis. We should definitely do it more often!

Ice Cream & Exhaustion

Last Tuesday Cohen decided he didn't need a nap, I allowed it. I wasn't thrilled when he was having a tantrum at 6:30 but I couldn't let him go to sleep that early! So I decided we had to go to the store to get ice cream. Aunt Joyce went with my trying to keep him awake. We came home with chocolate fudge ice cream cones covered with chocolate cookie crumbles. Cohen was so tired, but he couldn't resist! He snatched up his ice cream cone and went straight to bed! He was doing good for a while, but when I looked in on him just minutes later he was fast asleep with the cone in his hands! His eyes were still kinda open and if you look close you can see that his mouth is slightly open with his tongue still trying to lick the cone! So cute! He was so mad when I took the melting dripping cone from his hands, even madder when I used a baby wipe to clean up his face! He's so cute!

My attempt at fun food!

Here is my attempt at fun food. The boys never want to eat lunch so I made them a butterfly. The wings were deli meat between a slice of cheese, the body was a hotdog, the face was ketchup and the antennae were made from french fried onions (the kind you put on top of green bean casserole). They ate it up! I served it with a side of strawberries (and a little bit of sugar) in a container my friend Jaime picked up for me at the container store. Click here to get your own!

Bubble Blast!

I recently bought 2 battery powered bubble wands from Big Lots for $3.00 each! I brought them home, put in the (not included) batteries and set them loose. The boys had so much fun, I should have bought these LONG ago.

Whoa! He's so pleased!

Isn't that cool! It blows bubbles inside of bubbles!

Oh, it popped!
